Colin McRae for Kronos Total Citroën WRT in Turkey.
As Sébastien Loeb cannot take part in the rally of Turkey, the Kronos Total Citroën WRT has chosen to enter Colin McRae to drive the n°1 Citroën Xsara WRC for this event.
Further to his mountain bike accident last week, Sébastien Loeb had an operation on his right arm (humerus bone) which went well. The 2006 world championship leader now starts an intensive re-education in the aim to be back behind the wheel as soon as possible.
For the forthcoming Rally of Turkey (October 12th-15th), Marc Van Dalen - Kronos' team principal - together with Guy Fréquelin - Citroën Sport's director - have searched for the best solution for the Kronos Total Citroën WRT to defend its leadership in both ‘Drivers' and ‘Manufacturers' championships.
Very experienced Colin McRae has been chosen to help the team. With 25 world victories and one world champion title in 1995, Colin has also driven the Citroën Xsara in 2003, when he was Sébastien Loeb's team-mate in the Citroën Sport team. The Scottish driver has accepted the difficult challenge which represents this temporary mission. Highly motivated, Colin is decided to do his maximum to serve Seb and Kronos Total Citroën's interests in the fight with the competition.
Colin will be co-driven by Nicky Grist who has been sitting next to him on 83 starts out of his 145 participations in world rally championship.
